Integrative Graduate Training in
Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics

Building on strengths in agriculture, forestry, biotechnology, statistical modeling and veterinary medicine, NC State has made a major commitment to new graduate programs and research in two interdependent areas of genomic science —bioinformatics and functional genomics. Bioinformatics combines biology with statistics and computer science to store, manage and analyze the massive amounts of data involved in genomic science. Functional genomics applies high throughput molecular biology and robotic technologies to the study of gene expression and structure, promising insights into the way organisms work.
