Genomic Sciences Students

Our approach to genomic sciences is broad, offering degrees in both bioinformatics and functional genomics. As one of the first universities to formally teach genomic sciences, we have developed a well established respected graduate program. Every year we attract renowned researchers from across these fields to speak at our various seminars and lectures.

We are fortunate to have over 100 excellent faculty affiliated with genomic sciences, representing expertise from five colleges; College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Science, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Engineering, and College of Natural Resources.

With a broad spectrum of colleges represented, we are able to offer a unique training, tailored for each student. This allows everyone to have their own experience based on their interests and goals. Our program strived to ensure that, although we are a part of a large university, each student recived personal attention and is encouraged to be a part of our rich academic community.

Education from our program is not bound by the university's three campuses. Research Triangle Park (RTP) is one of the nations leading research development centers, housing over 170 global companies. Connections with RTP and local universities, Duke and University of North Carolina, open our students to opportunities for research collaboration, internships and jobs after graduation.
